An invitation to Mexico City, to run interactive workshops and demonstrations at florestry school, Travesia Taller Floral.
After a visit to the local flower market, day one opened with a live demonstration on creating a Georgian-inspired tablescape, combining seasonal local flowers with fruit for a rich, abundant feel.
Day two drew inspiration from seventeenth-century Dutch Master paintings, exploring depth, drama and painterly colour. Following the demonstration, participants created their own arrangements with one-to-one guidance from Phillip throughout.
Working with @travesiafloral and @artmarcodelangel, Phillip delivered two inspiring days of workshops and demonstrations used locally sourced products and ceramics to produce a fusion of tradition and modern Mexican.

Creating magic in Saint Louis, USA
Guest florist, panel judge and host of a drop-in demonstration at the annual Art in Bloom Festival at Saint Louis Art Museum (USA)
Saint Louis Art Museum hosts an annual competition, inviting 30 local artist to create floral displays inspirted by artwork throughout the museum. Phillip was invited as the guest florist for the duration of the event to create the standout installation in the Sculpture Hall, to dress the branded photobooth zone and to host the ‘Inspirations and Influences’ drop-in demonstration for over 800 people. He was also a judge on the competition panel.
All the products and props, including the manufacture of the pillars for the floral installation, were sourced locally.
